Smooth transitions and good track selection are the standout
qualities of this tape. If you are a fan of Red Café,
check this one out. DJ Lex "The Silent Killah" puts
it down nice, putting together a tape that is a good balance
of freestyles, longer songs, remixes and shorter cuts to keep
the whole thing glued together. Since it is a "Best of…" tape,
you've probably heard most of these tracks before if you've been
following Red Café's career, but "Best of…" tapes
are some of my favorites. Red Cafe is a Brooklyn MC who has puttin
it down for a minute now, and it seems like his movement is starting
to gain some real momentum judging from the number of recent
mixtape appearances. DJ Lex has also been on his grind, and is
affiliated with the Mixtape Awards winning Noizemob DJs.
Tracks to check for? Check the "Gunned Down" freestyle
featuring Kardinal Offishall. Another stand out tracks that features
Kardinal is the "Diddy Bop" remix that has appeared
other places, but works particularly well here placed between
the "Lehlur Leflah" freestyle and and the "Talkin
to Me" remix. Keep riding after these tracks, cause the "I
Like Girls" freestyle is crazy over that beat. |
